Task 1                                                                                                                                                                     Lady Macbeth really loves her husband, a feeling  which is portrayed in the quotation “my dearest partner of greatness”  On the other hand, she views him as having a soft heart, as being too kind to undergo such a daring task as that of overthrowing king Duncan. this is suggested  in the quotation ” yet do I fear thy  nature. It is full o’ the milk of human kindness to catch the nearest way”. It is like  she saying that a kind person like he is,  would never do anything as audacious and evil as usurping the king’s throne.                                           Macbeth also considers her husband lacking ambition and being too honest, which can be inferred  in the quotation “Art thou without ambition … wouldst not play false”                                                                                             In a word, though lady Macbeth loves her husband, she takes  him for a weak man, one who would never take all measures possible to reach his aims.

Task 2                                                                                                                                                                      The first quotation that I believe has symbols that help us characterize lady Macbeth is “when I burned in desire to question them further”                                                                                                                              This quotation portrays lady Macbeth has an  extremely prying sort of person, one who can hardly help herself  from questioning people .This nosiness of hers is something she can not avoid  as it is like a fire that burns her from inside.Another quotation I chose is”The raven himself is hoarse”. It brings with it an innuendo  of death, as we usually associate ravens with death bearing in mind that they like to be around corpses and decay. Her use of these words suggests she doesn’t fear battle nor the slaughtering of soldiers if it helps her reach her goals. The last quotation I picked from the extracts i had  was ” Come to my woman’s breast and take my milk for gall, you murdering ministers”.On the one hand,it links with the idea of motherhood as a woman needs milk to feed her babies, so it is close to the idea of bringing about life and also nurturing as children often take refuge in their mothers’ bosom for affection and protection. The last part of this quotation completely detaches herself  from that same idea of protection. when she asks to have her milk replaced by gall, which stands for ruthless and insolence, it is like she is refusing all those womanly feelings mentioned above..

These three quotations help her characterize lady Macbeth has a bold person, one who doesn’t show   fear and someone who has these manly, shall we call it to go into war than women.
